Lower Priced DS Lite or New DSI

It is the classic debate, which is paired up with the classic conundrum (now that’s a word I dont use enough). A new gadget comes out and you have to decide: 1 - Be one of the first to get it, but pay a premium for this privilege Or, wait until saturation of the product is higher and get it for a much cheaper price. This is the same issue we will all be facing when the nintendo dsi is released in the UK. Nintendo have already stated that the new dsi console will be priced higher than the existing ds lite in both America and the UK. Just how much…well they are not saying. This is not a discussion about the merits of the ds lite vs the dsi console, as we have already compared the dsi and ds lite, but rather whether the purchase is justified.

So what will you do? Will you buy the nintendo dsi as soon as it is avaliable, or will you wait until it has been around for a while and hopefully the price decreases? The other consideration is that there might be limited stock of the dsi console, which means if you try too late, you may have a long wait on your hands. An even further consideration is, as the dsi is new, the ds lite price may decrease to a great level. Will you then be tempted to buy the older ds lite instead?
